Sandro and Ina – our friendly local hosts – will warmly welcome you upon arrival. They will be at your service throughout your stay, whether you have questions about the area or are looking for something special.
If you wish, Ina can prepare breakfast for you in the morning, or Sandro can cook a traditional Istrian dish in the evening. Sandro and Ina have lived in the region for many years and are happy to give you tips for excursions and local specialties.
All services can be arranged individually with Ina and Sandro to ensure a relaxed and enjoyable experience.

Our favourite daytrips

Trips for Kids

Easily reachable by car in half an hour, this is a perfect day trip for children between four and 15 years old.
At https://skyfox-porec.com/de/ you'll find a climbing park, a go-kart track, paintball, and other attractions. Nearby is also the Aquapark, a fairly large water-themed amusement park.
Day on the boat: Dolphins, islands, bays and Limski Fjord

There are various boat charters available, including skippered options for those without a motorboat license. There's so much to explore, making it difficult to choose just one trip, but we recommend:
Funtana Charter and then head into the Limski Fjord for a swim, drinks at the Pirate Bar, and on the way back (ideally after 5:00 PM), look for dolphins and swim with them. There are many beautiful bays and small islands to discover.
For lunch or dinner before or after your trip: Casanova Beach Bar in Vrasar.
Excursion to the Lipic stud farm

The stud farm is the birthplace of the famous Lipizzaner horses, which can be seen at the Spanish Riding School in Vienna. The horses live in large, wild herds around the stud farm and can be visited there. A trip is well worth it.
Piran

A picturesque coastal town – ideal for a leisurely stroll and some delicious ice cream.
It's worth visiting the city walls and the church – the view is fantastic.
There's also a beautiful beach around Piran where you can enjoy swimming. It's known as a nudist beach, but we haven't had the chance to experience that yet :-) https://maps.app.goo.gl/nEW7HfPKrGZ77r6w5
Restaurant: Simple but charming – great for sitting outside.
Right next door is Rostelin – it's a bit nicer, but also a bit more expensive.
For fine dining, try Stara Gostilna: https://maps.app.goo.gl/QgVFvqmgfCjhacDn6
My favorite ice cream is from Mersi Gelato: Mersi Gelato
Rovinj

A must-see – charming, colorful, and right on the water. The market is picturesque, and you should definitely climb the hill to the church. Right next to the church, there's this wonderful bar for sundowners: a perfect place to relax.
Not cheap, but good and spectacularly located, is Puntulina – right on the cliffs. That's our restaurant recommendation.
Poreč

Visit the impressive Euphrasian Basilica – a truly special experience, especially at Easter (the service is in Croatian, but very atmospheric).
Restaurant recommendation: Sveti Nikola – right on the water.
You can take a ferry to the island of Sveti Nikola, which boasts a beautiful sandy beach with sun loungers, beach beds, and more. Perhaps the most beautiful beach without renting your own boat.
Triest (Italien)

An excursion full of history, architecture and Mediterranean flair.
Motovun

A medieval inland village with great views and a relaxed atmosphere – perfect for a day trip.
The best beaches

.webp)
The closes beach is Kanegra plage only 15 min. from Dramac. It's not exactly beautiful, but you can jump into the Adriatic Sea relatively quickly.

Relatively close to the house is the beach, which is unfortunately very developed for tourism is Zambratija Sandy Beach Here you can lie down and rent parasols, but it can get very crowded during the season. Despite that, it's still something of a hidden gem.
Sv. Nikola
.jpg)
Sv. Nikola is an island located off the coast of Poreč, where a beautiful sandy beach has been built. The island can be reached by boat taxi from Poreč. Sun loungers are available for rent, with service directly to the loungers and plenty of fun for children.
Zlataorog

Zlataorog is south of Umag and is not developed for tourism - beautiful and wild. https://maps.app.goo.gl/m8dUzdWNPuUiWBtBA
RT KAMENJAK

RT KAMENJAK, near Pula. It is located in a nature reserve but can be reached by car.
Walks and hikes from the house

From the house to the Zingarella waterfalls

A beautiful walk from the house leads to the Zingarella waterfalls. From the house, head uphill. At the T-junction, and on the second bend (the path curves to the right), a trail branches off to the right – number 284. The path is usually fairly well maintained, and you can swim under the waterfall, but the last section is steep and involves a rope for support. It's more suitable for athletic people. During the summer months, the waterfall is usually dry, but the walk is still worthwhile. A suspension bridge leads to a cave. We did the hike with a nearly four-year-old; it was challenging but manageable.
From the house to the Momjan castle ruins

Another beautiful route leads to the castle ruins near Momjan. A signposted path begins directly on the road above the house. Turn right onto the road and follow it to the old mill (500 m). The path starts there.
From the house, through the fields on the Slovenian side

Another lovely walk can be done directly from the house, taking the Roman road to the left into the valley and walking a loop through the fields. This involves crossing a ford, but it is usually very shallow.
A tour through Merišće

It's a 3-minute drive to Merisce. From there you can take a short walk through the village to the church and cemetery, and then return through the olive groves and vineyards. Beautiful view! https://maps.app.goo.gl/JfqgUn8sVH484VWN6
Restaurants:
Culinary tips nearby

A bit pricey, but a very nice beer garden in front of an old Istrian house with good food.

Our favourite restaurant – a nice family, excellent food and a beautiful garden.
Konobo Piero

A simpler restaurant, especially for meat lovers. Very close to our house.

If you're looking for home-brewed beer and stylish pizza (also available to take away), this is the place to be. It's just around the corner from Villa Dramac.
